The central mission of Alternatives Unlimited is to motivate and instruct students who have had trouble achieving success in the traditional school setting, including those identified as emotionally disturbed or behavior disordered, in safe and orderly, academically challenging environments. To achieve this goal, students are scheduled into small classes, provided optimum personal attention, and given access to a range of high quality resources.

Since its inception in 1997, Alternatives Unlimited has partnered with urban and suburban school districts throughout the United States to provide high-quality, cost-effective educational opportunities to those districts’ most challenging students. Schools now exist serving diverse populations in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas
A major goal of the Alternatives Unlimited program is to help students either return to the regular school environment, gain the skills necessary to enter the workplace, or enroll in postsecondary educational opportunities. Central to this goal is a strong emphasis on self-discipline and regular attendance.
Students must be given every opportunity to learn and become productive members of society. Alternatives Unlimited - through its extensive experience with non-traditional learners - creates an academic environment capable of offering all students the educational opportunities they deserve. All Alternatives Unlimited staff is committed to the dual concepts that all students can learn and the imperative that all students will learn.
